Let us pray for the
people who tried so valiantly to help others in their time of need. Some of
them never got to go home; some are unable to speak about those horrible days.
All of us were forever changed by these events. We do not forget. We will never
forget. |
I ran across an amazing website. It
takes the 'Adopt A Soldier' campaign to another level. These Angels want our
military personnel to know that we love and cherish them. They are not
forgotten, and we will continue to support them no matter what. If you would
like more information, please go to this website:
Soldier's Angels
I have checked them out with
several reputable sources, and am more than satisfied that they do what they
say - support our troops! |

SC
Voting & Your Representatives
The first step in finding your local
and state representatives is to grab your voter's registration card and look at
the information. If you do not have your card, or would like to show someone
what their Congressional, House, or Senate districts are, go here -
SC Election Commission you plug in your name and address
and it give you all of your information including where your voting
precinct is! WHAT? You are not a registered voter? We can fix that on the same
sight - SC Voter
Registration Application. This is in .pdf form so you will need the free
reader.
U.S. Senators for S.C.
U.S. House Representatives for S.C.. If you have not taken
the time to find your district by visiting the SC Election Commission's link,
you can plug in your zip code and they will take you right to your rep. The
catch? You have to have your entire zip. So go
here first
and get it.
The State of South Carolina also has a website -
The South Carolina
Legislature which gives you access to your local senators and congressmen
and women. Again, you will need to know your local districts either by looking
at your voter's registration card, or by visiting the
SC Election Commission and plugging in your
information.

Hard to Find 800
Numbers http://www.hardtofind800numbers.com
JURY DUTY SCAM: This has been verified on Snopes.com (link
listed below) and by the FBI (their link is also included below). It is
spreading fast so be prepared should you get this call. Most of us take those
summons for jury duty seriously, but enough people skip out on their civic
duty, that a new and ominous kind of scam has surfaced. Fall for it and your
identity could be stolen, reports CBS. In this con, someone calls pretending to
be a court official who threateningly says a warrant has been issued for your
arrest because you didn't show up for jury duty. The caller claims to be a
jury coordinator. If you protest that you never received a summons for jury
duty, the scammer asks you for your Social Security number and date of birth
so he or she can verify the information and cancel the arrest warrant.
Sometimes they even ask for credit card numbers. Give out any of this
information and bingo! Your identity just got stolen. The scam has been
reported so far in 11 states, including Oklahoma, Illinois, and Colorado. This
(scam) is particularly insidious because they use intimidation over the phone
to try to bully people into giving in formation by pretending they're with the
court system. The FBI and the federal court system have issued nationwide
alerts on their web sites, warning consumers about the fraud. Check it out
here: http://www.snopes.com/crime/fraud/juryduty.asp
